Destuffed in under three minutes; nasty response from customer serviceNov 25, 2006
By Autodidact My one year old medium sized dog destuffed this toy in under three minutes. The seams are the weak point. When I wrote to customer service about this (and directed them to posted pics of the process on my web site), I got a nasty response with a hint of threat about the posted pics that said that the toy is "not a chew toy." (The advertising said, "for dogs who chew their toys.")

Did not stand up to our chewer.Dec 02, 2010
By Becky Lee I have an 8mos old border collie mix that is the strongest chewer I've ever owned. Thankfully he only chews on his toys! Unfortunately it makes if very hard for us to find things that can withstand his jaws. I was so hopeful with this one. He had the sides chewed off in 15 minutes. I'm not lying. The stuffing was ripped out before I knew it, and within this mass of white cloud was one of the squeakers - which they market as being triple wrapped in "tuff" material to keep it in the toy. He really did LOVE this toy though, I'll give them that - but it definitely did NOT hold up at all.
If your dog is a big time chewer, don't get this toy - it just won't last. I've had the best luck with a sherpa dragon - that at least lasted about 5 days before I had to throw it out.

This toy only lasted 2 weeks before my dog tore it up. Also, seller says product is guaranteed, I contacted the seller via email thru Amazon asking about the warrany/guarantee and never got a response back. I would not recommend buying this product as seller provided false information by stating the toy was indestructable and if it were to be torn up it was warrantied.

Looks tough... but looks can be deceiving.Mar 14, 2007
By C. Barnes Very strong-looking toy. Appears well made. Nice plush outer shell and rugged-feeling build.
Gave this to a 9-month old St. Bernard mix. She mono-focuses on one part of a toy and works on it as long as it takes (usually a few minutes) to get to stuffing. This Tuffy toy (rated 8 on the 10 tuffy scale) was opened-up to reveal stuffing in about 10 minutes.
This toy may be for rough play time, but not for chewing. Get a hard rubber toy and leave this one for fetch.
P.S. Dog LOVES IT!

"The Entity"
The large number of 1-star and 5-star reviews here might reflect the owners' approach. The instructions on this toy admittedly are somewhat vague, but do state that it is "not a chew toy" and for supervised play only. If your dog destroys it quickly, you are probably not using it interactively.
Our 80-pound Lab mix loves to try to disembowel anything that squeaks. The more he likes a toy, the rougher he is on it. But we have managed to have great fun with this for 15-20 minutes a day, many days a week, over many months, with very little wear. We play fetch, chase, hide and seek, and vigorous tug-of-war. When he starts to chew on it, we again initiate one of those games. At the end of play, we put it out of reach.
This toy works great for the above, tires him out, and the two squeakers have lasted better than most other toys we have tried. A great product unless you are ever planning to give it to your dog and let him or her play alone.
