Bad Dog...house!!Jan 27, 2008
By Carol

I bought this because I figured for the cost it should have been a good house and was more appealing to the eye than many of the other plastic houses. I have to agree that this house is not what it is advertised to be. The floor is not only weak and thin but actually 2 pieces that snap together on a hinge/slide seam that leave a gaps where the tabs are and are far from producing a seam that has any potential for keeping moisture out. The floor is so thin and low(1/4") even the slightest puddle would start to seep in. The whole house is of thin plastic and would provide moisture protection from rain or snow(unless it floods)but little to no potential for heat build up in cold weather. We had no moving problems once assembled as previously mentioned though. You just have to make sure that all the tabs are fully seated. This might be ok in a garage or something, but not really for outdoors due to the floor situation and thin plastic. I had to send this one back - I send very few things back - ever.

Easy snap together, well-designed, weak floorSep 26, 2007
By Jeffrey D. Doan It took me about 20 minutes to put everything together. The screen panels (door) only require twisting of 4 thumb bolts and no screwdriver is even needed. The unit, after assembly, feels sturdy and strong. There are small air inlets at the top corners of the front and back panels to let fresh air in & out without letting water to leak in.
The only thing I have to complain about is the floor should have been thicker and stronger, as it is very thin and weak. I guess it was designed to be put on a hard and flat surface, so I'm gonna have to get a piece of plywood underneath to provide support in order to jack it up from the ground.
Overall, I'm happy with this dog house, as it was easy to assemble and structurally strong. The screen door is a plus, as all other types of dog house don't have it. The price is reasonable and affordable.

Great for my catsAug 02, 2010
By Jamie Marie I just ordered my third Suncast dog house. I'm using them on my deck for my outside kitties to keep them out of the rain and cold. It's not super sturdy but since my heaviest cat weighs only about 10 lbs it's enough. The floor is a little thin but I put bricks under all 4 corners and the middle on each side, works really well. I plan on filling it with old blankets this winter so they can snuggle in. All in all, for $50 it's great!

Good enough - Don't expect a super value for your buck.Dec 20, 2007
By Lynn Benson I'd say this dog house is ok. It snapped together well enough, but it is very wobbly. So, note to those of you before you buy it. Try to assemble yours in the vicinity of where you will leave your house ultimately. Once you realize it's so wobbly that you have to unassemble it to get where you're going, you'll kick yourself...
Next, the flap door is lacking ease of movement for smaller dogs (we have 2 chihuahua's that are 7 and 10 pounds) insomuch as it opens, but does not go back closed and then leaves the house all drafty and cold.
But for the money, you can insulate it yourself well enough. It looks nicer than those ugly igloos. A bit of work. I bet it won't last as long as an ugly igloo, either -- so 3 stars. But it looks nicer!

easy to assemble... too bad dog won't use itAug 09, 2010
By PK This is a decent dog house but beware that your dog may get too hot if it's sitting in the sun. And beware that your dog may rather sleep on the carpet in the garage rather than a dog house.
