Exactly what I was looking for~Jan 28, 2009

I have tried a lot of different portable dog bowls because I have a service dog who goes everywhere with me and this one is definitely the best. I've had the ones that are bags and those are just not good. They are SO hard to clean because the dog's spit and any water gets in all the crevices and it gets smelly very quickly. I've had one that was kind of wallet0-like and folds flat, which was great for food but if you wanted to put water in it and weren't able to dry it completely it got moldy easily. This bowl is great. It is silicone so it's smooth inside which makes it easy to clean and since most of it is exposed all the time it dries on its own and doesn't get moldy or smelly. Plus it barely takes up any space in my backpack.

This little cup/bowl folds flat and can be easily slipped into a handbag, in the seat back pocket and even clipped to a bag or strap with a carabiner. The bowl is sturdy enough when popped open and stays open securely at each fold/step.
The bowl is available in 3 sizes to fit most dogs and the small and large are also available with a folding stand. Great for weekend cottages, traveling and even in small spaces.
It can go in the dishwasher and is easy to clean. No more smelly hard to clean fabric bowls. This is great for dogs who refuse to drink/eat out of dark containers or dogs that will only eat/drink out of their own bowls.
One note of caution: if you have a dog that likes to splash in its water bowl or carry its food bowl around, you may find that it may collapse the bowl spilling water all over the floor or even learn (& like!) how to collapse it (great! a new toy!).

My goodness what a handy and useful little dog item this one is. It is one of the few products I have purchased over the past several years that actually performs better than the advertisement says it will.
We travel a lot and we hike a lot. We have four dogs but only travel with two Boston Terriers at a time...we love our dogs but four dogs at once......!
Anyway we purchased these at a local pet store and the price we paid was a bit higher than shown here on Amazon. We purchased two and they have worked out quite well. You can purchase a stand for these things but we opted not to do this.
These dishes (Note: Even though the product page notes two dishes in the picture, you are actually purchasing only one), collapse when not in use and pack rather well. They fit nicely into a backpack or under the car seat and are great to take into hotels.
There are a couple of items you should note:
First, I see, after reading some other reviews of this product as sold by this company, that a couple of people had complaints that after long usage they tended to mold. Goodness! You are suppose to wash these things once in a while! They are machine washable so it is no big deal!
Second, while the bowels are well made, it you have a dog or puppy like our youngest Boston Terrier, who is quite capable of dismantling a Sherman Tank is 10 or less minutes and that is convinced that everything found on the entire earth is actually a toy made specifically for his pleasure, you will find that your dog can indeed figure out how to collapse these things on their one. Hopefully though you did a better job of training than we did.
We have been delighted with these dishes. We have used collapsible dished before and have not been happy with them. Of these, we have no complaint.

I purchased this product to fit into my dog's back pack (which I also got from AMAZON!) Our dog can now carry his own water, food, complete with collapsible bowls, and toys when we hike or travel! He feels he has an important job now when he carries his own items!

Great for the pup on the go. Folds flat, cleans easily and is quite durable. Along with a Gulpy, you and your dog are ready for a day away with little fuss.
