5Labs love 'emSep 08, 2006
By K. R. Walker
My two labs *love* these balls. I've owned two in a two-year period. Each lasted approximately a year before they started to really wear out.

A great value for a toy that lasts so long and is so well loved.

5Planet Dog Orbee ballJul 20, 2006

I own bloodhounds which are aggressive chewers. We have NO toys other than these Planet Dog balls. My most aggressive chewer can pick off some of the outer "earth" desing but cannot destroy the ball. It's GREAT for the aggressive chewer.

5My dog loves Orbee!Jun 09, 2007
By Mary E. Burdette "MB"
My dog, Woden, a seven-year-old Picardy Shepherd male, loves his Orbee and knows it by name. He's now on his second Orbee. The first (a style that is no longer made) was made of softer "stuff" and he chewed on it so much that it split (not quite in two). He still has that one and still loves chewing on it. He loves his newer one, too, but I must say that he still prefers chewing on the softer one. He now has two favorite toys: a stuffed platypus (restuffed and resewn numerous times) that he's had since he was 8 weeks old and his Orbees. I highly recommend them!

2Not as tough as you thinkDec 11, 2007

I got this because it was a friday sale item. This is the item that put "Planet Dog" on the map? Numerous awards? Best product of the year? I checked out their site and could find no awards. It appears this product works well for many people. Not for me and Daisy, a 3-year old yellow lab. The only reason I paid the ten bucks is that I was hoping for a very durable toy. My dog is intelligent, and is highly educated in the arts of chewing and toy dismantling.
It took her 12 minutes before destoying half of Europe. South America was next to be peeled off. If your dogs loves to chew and is good at it, stick with the dollar store items, let your dog go wild and throw it away.
As I go to throw this away, I feel a chill in my spine. Let me tell you it is much easier to toss a dollar away than it is a ten spot. Planet Dog needs to spend less time "protecting the enviroment" and more time creating better dog toys. The description says recyclable, but my trash company doesn't recycle rubber yet, does yours? So thank you Planet Earth for one more dog toy piling up the local dump.
As for everyone this works for, that's super! I have yet to find a better toy than a durable tennis ball (by the balls made for practice, they last much longer than competition tennis balls)

5Great ball, but have a back up on hand...May 03, 2008
By Chris from Chicago "Chris"
if you have a really tough chewer. I have a pit bull and he was first introduced to this ball at his aunt's house who has a cattle dog. He loved the ball so much and took it home with him and continued to love it for a couple of months, until one day he decided to rip it apart. I thought any ball that could survive that long was worth a purchase, so I bought a bunch of them using the 4 for 3 promotion. The first one I gave to him he ripped apart in about 10 minutes (while running back and forth with a look of absolute glee through the house). Little pieces of the world everywhere. He came running back to me with that cute look that I couldn't resist, so I gave him another one. That one has lasted for a while. Indestructable? No, not for a real chewer. Worth it? Absolutely. I keep several of them on hand and my boy has about five throughout the house and seems to tear up one out of every three or four (yes, I bought that many). His eyes light up when I pick up one for a game of fetch, and he's been known to go through phases just carrying it around with him from room to room. Overall, a great toy.

As an aside, I have found that he enjoys ripping apart the blue one more than the orange one, for what that's worth. He also loves the green and pink "woof" and "fetch" balls and has the same experience with them - plays with them when he wants and can rip them up without problem if he should so decide (but loves them up until that time).
