I have a 5 month old lab mix and it worked perfectly on her. She would bark for hours on end when I was gone, and I put this on her one day and she's not barked since. Will not work on small dogs (she's over 30 lbs.) and sometimes when she shakes, it will move so that it won't work anymore.
Overall, it's been wonderful. I only had to use it a couple times and she learned very quickly not to bark. I highly recommend this.

This product taught my dog to stop barking quickly but it stopped working within 3 months for no reason. You have to buy special batteries that only the company makes, other batteries won't fit. I now have 2 batteries that are useless for anything but my broken bark collar. It's not well-made and it is clunky, it was hard for her to wear it all the time because she couldn't lay down comfortably unless it was on the other side of her neck. I wish this product was made to last more than a few months because it did work until it broke. I also wish it was more sleek so it would have been more comfortable on her. Now she's back barking at every noise!

We decided to get this after setting up the video camera to record our dog (2 yr old beagle/lab) when we were away. To my shock, our dog howled for 14 mins (on and off) and then started barking for 9 mins (on and off) and then he finally decided to shut up. I knew he had separation anxiety but didn't know it was that bad! We live in an apartment & nobody had complained to us, so that's why I didn't know how bad it was.
So we purchased the pictured collar and it looks exactly the same as ours except the model is BC 103. I'm not sure if the model on this page is incorrect or what. Anyway, the first few times we put it on, he let out a short yelp when he got shocked but he is used to it now and has figured out that he won't get shocked if he quietly cries. I know because I set up the camera again and there's no more howling or barking, just a little cry here and there. So I took one star off for that. Some people have said that they don't even replace the battery because the dog won't know that it's flat & I'm thinking the same will happen for us.
Overall, I would recommend this product for anyone who has a dog with sep. anxiety.

I bought these collars for my dogs in the hope they would stop the barking. Being little dogs they LOVE to bark. Instant silence after the 1st shock. WOW. So worth it. A must for peace of mind.

We have a VERY barky rat terrier. He goes absolutely bonkers for any squirrel or dove/ bird in the yard or in the trees around the yard. He will literally bark for like an hour incessantly if we let him. We got these collars at PetSmart and they are super effective until they BREAK. And they definitely break. We have been thru 2 in 3 years. They stopped working after about 6 months and we have just been using wishful thinking that they will start working again after much tinkering and battery changing. Also, the other reviewers who mention battery usage are right. These collars EAT batteries up and they are a total rip off since they make them so that you have to buy their brand. We had hoped that just having the collar on would be a deterrent, but our little guy is smart and figured out that he can bark to his heart's content when the battery is dead and also learned how to drain it. Since it has six progressive levels, he would sit and bark four times and let it reset then bark four more and let it reset... you get the idea. If you have a smart dog don't buy this collar. We are moving on to something else.
