Dogloo offers sturdiness and designAug 29, 2010 My two weiner dogs hang out on the back porch often so I got this in lieu of a dog house.
I like the product's sturdiness, size and appearance. I put a blanket inside and the dogs seem to enjoy cuddling up inside.
The weather's been pretty mild outside but I imagine that once the weather gets colder the insulation will keep the dogs warm and they will be more inclined to spend more time inside.
Happy Pet HomeJun 14, 2010 Dog just loves it. Well constructed. For the price I paid was very suprised at the quality.
(TINY-PAWS-KENNEL) LOVES IT!Apr 24, 2010 I bought this for my Pomeranians. I placed it in a 6L x 6W x 4H kennel which sits on patio bricks. The house is plenty big enough for 3 or 4 of my Poms who weigh 3.5 to 6 pounds full grown. It wasn't too big either. This left plenty of room on each side of the house to put my automatic waterer and feeder. I covered the lot in cedar shavings and even filled the house with them, too. Seeing how the house has a deep bottom, it works out great! The cedar keeps fleas, ticks, and even ants away. Being outside... ants like to get in dog food, see. I have to clean this lot once or twice a week. I placed two chain link gates on top of the kennel that are 42 x 72 and tide them down. I figured this would work well in holding up a good tarp. I then placed an 8 x 10 heavy duty canvas tarp on top and ran it down the back for shade and to keep them out of the rain, which I also tide down. So, I really don't know how this house does in the rain because I don't let mine get wet. I liked that it does have an air vet that you can open or close on top for ventilation. I would imagine that this house could get too hot inside if it were sat right out in the sun with no shade. It is very well built. It is also an attractive house compared to some of the others I have looked at. I like how the dog can go back in the round part of the house to get out of the wind or sit in the door opening. The opening is not too big either. I think it will work out really well this winter for them. I liked it so much that I plan to buy another one for my second 6L x 6W x 4H lot as soon as I get it. This set up worked out great for me and my Poms. I am proud of it. The house made it look so nice that I don't mind showing my dogs to anyone.
I'm so happy!Mar 17, 2010 LOVE THIS DOG HOUSE! It is wonderful for my basenjis. The old dog goes all the way inside and the younger male sleeps in the entrance section. GREAT BUY, GREAT SERVICE. Thank you so much for making this affordable for a single person...

Medium Dogloo Goes CatlooSep 21, 2009 I bought this for the 3-4 cats that live on my porch, for the winter. I also got the body-heat mat for the inside, and the door (I'm reviewing those on their own product pages).
I have uploaded a picture of the medium dogloo (Indigo Dog Home) with the door, and my cat Katrina, so maybe you can get a visual idea about size. She is maybe 5# IF that, a normal sized housecat breed.
I bought two of these, and they came together in the biggest box I've ever seen, holy cats! I didn't even know carrier services could deliver boxes that big. Four normal adults could have fit crouching in it! Info about the product:
* I was pleased to see the bottom section is deep enough that I didn't have to worry about rain 'sliding' into the doghouse, as my porch gets very puddle-ish in heavy rain.
* There is a vent area near the top back.
* There is no hole for the heater accessory, you have to drill one in the side of the cover, just fyi. (Purchase separately.)
* There are pre-made screw holes inside for the door (which is a soft flap that sits inside a few inches). (Purchase separately.)
* I saw other reviews about this somewhere, complaining about the "flimsiness" of the tabs that snap it together. There are a few on the dark bottom part 'inside' and a few on the white top part 'outside'. When my box arrived, one of the inner bottom tabs was snapped completely off and loose in the box. It really is just thin hard rubber and those tabs have a 'flex point' built in obviously to allow them to move a little, so those probably aren't real robust.
* I'm intending to 'duck tape' around the seam where the two pieces connect. I feel this will be better for temperature reasons and it wouldn't be that hard to just pull off if opening to clean. I think even if a couple of connective tabs snapped, duck tape would work it out. I'm not saying the product needs duck taping to work, I'm just saying that while the potential flimsiness of those connector tabs is a legit complaint for some folks, it's probably not something that would take much time/trouble to compensate for, IF it even came up for you.
* I do not yet know how the plastic will hold up to a serious freeze. I do know that the door isn't remotely a door and I'm going to have to do something else to drastically increase the warmth containment inside even in addition to a tiny-watt covered light custom-placed inside and the body-heat mat sold custom for the product.
* The doghouse seems pretty secure, and roomy inside. It's nice that the doorway is kind of 'extra' space. I'm hoping the shape of it will make it safer from the straightline winds we get here in the Ozarks, I don't want it blowing away! I think this is a good design.
The back half that has the body-heat mat sold for this should fit ~5 friendly cats just fine.
