"Love to Read"
My dog Bogart has a problem with his liver and needs to take this pill every day. I used to buy it at the vet's office and paid a MUCH higher price. Happily I found out that Amazon also sold this item and at a much LOWER price. I plan to do as much medication shopping as I need to right here at Amazon.

Saved my DogJan 18, 2008

Denosyl saved my dogs life. My Sheltie is epileptic and the meds for his seizures damaged his liver. He was a very sick dog but my Vet suggested Denosyl and Marin and within a week I noticed major improvement. In a months time his liver fuction is back to normal and he feels great! I highly recommend this product.

My review is two-fold. I purchased the Denosyl from Entirely Pets for $15. My vet was selling it for $44. I ordered this 3/6/11 and it arrived 3/10/11. It is a 30 day supply. The product expires April 2011. The product I received is very old (I know - you get what you pay for, right?) I am not sure if this will be as effective as a fresher box.
My airedale is very sick. He ate toxic fruit from a "cardboard palm" (look it up on the net). Survival rates are not high. He does however seem to be responding to treatment and his blood tests are very slowly improving. I would hate to set him back or stop his recovery because the product is old. We are using Denosyl as a liver protectant to help his liver regenerate.
More than likely I will throw the old product away and buy fresh product from our vet. I think Denosyl is definitely worth a try if your pet needs a liver protectant.
**** Product Update ****
I ended up throwing away the nearly expired product bought from Entirely Pets through Amazon and continue to purchase Denosyl from our vet. Our airedale has had amazing results from this liver protectant. His liver levels have drastically improved but he remains on Denosyl while his last liver level comes down. We have switched from the caplets to the chewable pills, which we call "treats" - our dog loves them.

Helped my dog recover from liver failure.Nov 09, 2006

My dog is 86 pounds, and the Vet prescribed this lower dose Denosyl. My dog was expected to die, but she fully recovered. It's thought that prednisone may have induced the failure. It was hard to get her to take the pill without biting it, as if broken then the pill is no good as it dissolves in the stomach where acid destroys it. But she is alive today, so no complaints!
