Decent bed, but not 100% memory foamMay 23, 2010
By Michael Watkins

This is a decent bed, and my dog is using it comfortably. However, like most "memory foam" beds, only a small layer on the top is memory foam, in this case about one inch of eggcrate style. The rest of the bed is just regular open cell foam. The cover is well made, with an easy to operate zipper on both the exterior cover and the interior liner. I just wish manufacturers would clearly indicate whether the entire bed is memory foam, or just a thin top layer. Due to the small amount of memory foam, I feel this bed is overpriced.

My dog loves this bedDec 01, 2008

I have a 70lb rottweiler who loves this bed! She used to have one of those beds with the sides- she liked the sides because she could stick her head in the corners. Even though I knew she liked the sides, those beds aren't really made to last. After about 8 months, the foam had gotten mushed around and lost its shape and, most importantly, was flattened to the ground and my dog started to develop bald elbows.
I got this bed because, after doing lots of research, buying it from this seller was the best price for a memory foam bed around. Even though it was a little bit out of my price range, I got it because you can buy replacement covers (hopefully the foam will last for years) and memory foam is really good for big dog joints.
I was surprised by how soft the beige fleece-like top is - it doesn't ball up and gather hair like the other bed. It is easily removed and can be thrown in the washer. I guess my only critique of the product is that after two washings, some strings are sticking out of the cover - it does not appear to be falling apart at all, though. I hope the cover lasts through many washings. This bed is about 4" thick. Inside, there is a piece of foam that is really two pieces glued together. The bottom is about 2" of regular yellow foam and there is about a 2" piece of egg-crate memory foam on top. I was afraid my heavy dog would sink through it and her elbows would hurt from the floor, but I tested it by laying down on it myself. Even I didn't sink through to the floor!
My dog's elbows have improved and she hangs out on her memory sleeper all the time. Thanks to K&H for a great product and thanks to Amazon and Martha's pet Place for a great price and very fast, reasonable shipping.
One more reason this is better than one of those oval foam beds with the sides is that this fits in my Honda Fit's back seat perfectly. My dog used to get car sick, but now she has this foam bed to hold her steady. We just took an 8 hour trip each way for Thanksgiving, and she just laid on her bed and didn't get sick once.
Thanks very much. I recommend this product and seller.

Our Dog LOVES it!Dec 19, 2009

We have a 14yr old Boxer that has bad hips. She LOVES this bed and it really helps her get comfortable. My wife takes the cover off once a week and washes it and it has not faded or shrunk. We are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Best dog bed I've ever foundMar 28, 2010

I have had many types of dog beds, and I've searched and searched for a good orthopedic pad for my big dogs. The difference with this pad, is that it is actually GENIUNE memory foam, which is far superior to much of the orthopedic, eggshell type foam used in other beds. All you have to do is lay on it to tell the difference. I have several other orthopedic beds and the difference is amazing. Some manufacturers even say memory foam, but when you read the description, there is only a thin layer of memory foam on top of other types of foam. I haven't had this long but I can't say enough good things about it. The cover is very nice and is higher quality than anything else I've had. I highly recommend this bed and have already purchased a second one.

Works for usFeb 06, 2009
By Sam Hail My 65 pound boxer puppy has plenty of room and has loved it since day #1. Shipped promptly by Amazon Cover has been washed a few times and is holding up well. It is not water proof though - I picked up a 24" x 36" mattress pad at local pharmacy for $20.00 - now investment is protected and everyone is happy.
