I got this for my dog who likes to chew, LOVES ice and gets hot easily. I thought this would be perfect. He didn't like the texture and size of the bone (he is a small dog) so it was difficult to get him to chew on it. When I finally got him interested enough to chew, the bone squirted him and he absolutely will not go near it now.

I tried this with another small dog (poodle) and although she did try chewing on it, but kept stopping suddenly, rubbing and licking at her mouth. I realized that her muzzle smelled horrid. Even though I had tried to get all of the water out from the last time I tried it with my own dog, I must have not gotten it completely empty. I did refill it for her, but the water that came out of the bone had a very potent (and terrible) smell. The poodle started avoiding the bone completely, even walking in a wide arc around it. I finally threw it away, what a waste of money.

We received this toy as a gift for our 7lb Yorkie who can easily tear apart any "small dog" toy. We figured this would be another one that would soon meet the trash, but suprisingly, this is a VERY durable toy!! He has been playing with it for over a year and it's still in perfect condition. We got him another one from Amazon because we were so excited to find where to buy it. This is a perfect toy for a small dog!

My cocker spaniel destroyed even the most "durable" toy I could find. The HchewO he has is over a year old and is still going strong. He loves to chew on this for hours on end. It gives him something to do and keeps him calm, when I cant take him for a walk. I can't find it in the stores anymore, so I'll be purchasing a couple for the future.

My puppy is teething and I have been looking for a good toy for him to chew instead of his dog bed/cushion or my favorite shoes. As recommended by a friend to get him something that can be chilled since cold toy helps relieve his sore teething gums, I bought this toy bone, filled it with water, froze it and let him play and chew it. I do NOT notice the strong smell that the other reviewer mentioned. It smells just like other plastic bones. Maybe because I washed the bone before letting him play with it...
My puppy went crazy noticing the bone was cold after I have frozen it. The little bumps on the bone help massaging his gums and it melts after he plays with it for a while. When he bites the softer plastic parts, once in a while, small amount of water gets shot out from the microscopic holes, which excites him more. I don't really know how the bone works, but water does not continuously get shot out from the same hole, only once in a while. That really intrigues my dog. I just think this toy is extraordinary. Also, it is not messy and do not get my floor very wet. I am glad i bought this rather than the Chilly Bone. Highly recommend!

My young shih-tzu/lhasa-apso mix discovered this toy that a friend's dog had and would always steal it to play with. After weeks of searching I finally found it on Amazon. The day I opened the box she saw it and started jumping and barking. When took it out of the package and gave it to her she played with it for a good 3 hours straight! I went back online and purchased a couple more just to keep on hand. I highy recommend this toy for anyone who has a young/small dog.
