The Flexi Classic extra small is supposed to be a good size for small dogs, but it doesn't say it must also be for small people!! The handle of the leash is too small for even 3 of my fingers to squish into and it's even too small for my 10 year old to hold comfortably. Unless you have VERY small hands, or you are sending a VERY small child to walk the dog(!), I wouldn't recommend it.

The new 'Flexi Retractable 10-Foot Mini Cord Leash', Red - I ordered this to replace the same (I thought) item purchased from WM several years earlier since I didn't find any there. The cord had become worn and binded' The new leash arrived and I switched to it to go and walk my 5 year old male Bichon, along with his younger brother and his Westy sister still using the older design Flexi 10' leashes. The newer retractable leash is a re-design of the old great leash but the handle is 'Fat' and not comfortable in my hand like the old thinner one with finger molds.
Some apparently 'new graduate ergonomics engineer' probably newly hired at half his early retired predecessor's salary, thought they could make an improvement 'NOT'. The handle is uncomfortable and the more I used it the more it annoyed me. I finally heated up a metal pipe with a torch and 'modified the handle' by melting it to try to match the older one. This helped a lot but it still wasn't perfect.
Several weeks later , I ran into some of the older design Flexi 10' leashes and bought 5. Not all things get better - The older Camry, for instance' rides twice as good as the newer ones - Oh Well - TVs are now better :). Please, keep in mind that all individuals have their own opinions - Thanks!

I bought this flexi, and it's great! I have a 6 lbs. Shorkie dog, and this retractable mini leash works great on her. This is the second one I have purchased because my first one got wet at the beach and had sand in it and wasn't working as well. I am glad they carry this on Amazon because they didn't have them at walmart anymore.

Works perfect for our two Chihuahua's. It is small and lightweight which I like and it's strong enough to hold both of our Chihuahuas back. Just keep in mind this is for fairly small dogs. I wouldn't get it if your dog will chew on the leash because it's a rather small rope and it could certainly be chewed through. It's ten feet long, which is long enough to walk your dog, but it would be nice if it were a little bit longer, maybe 15 or 20 feet. Overall for the price that we paid it works perfectly and I am very happy with it.
