Great LeashJun 11, 2011

We've got two dogs. Both are between 40 and 50 pounds. These leashes are durable. We use them twice a day every day. They outlast us. The last one we lost after about 3 years. Even though it makes the case bigger, we prefer the strap over the cord. The cord can be more dangerous for people. In particular, you have to watch giving someone a rub burn.

We like these retractable tape leashes. They work great for allowing our dogs some freedom to roam without being beyond control. They do take a little coordination to master, if you're new to them -- especially 1 person walking 2 dogs at the same time! The leashes seem plenty strong, but our dogs are trained not to yank hard. Even though they may twist sometimes when fully extended, the ones we bought have a little guide ball that straightens the tape out as it reels in. I much prefer this style to the old cord style. The only drawback to these leashes is they're a bit heavy, but that probably means they're well-made with quality materials. We're happy with our purchase and Amazon's price can't be beat!
