Amazing Mosquito Repellent!Jul 27, 2009
By Kelly I needed a product that would repel mosquitoes and be safe for my vizsla. I purchased the Ectopamine spray on the recommendation of my veterinarian, and it works wonderfully! Before this product, I had to constantly swat the mosquitoes off my dog when we went out to the park for evening flyball practice. With this product, not a single mosquito lands on him. It has a pleasant scent, much like spice cookies. I even use it on myself!

worked well on flea infestationJul 18, 2009

I took my dog with me on vacation and he got a flea infestation. When we got back home, I gave him a bath with neem oil shampoo and sprayed his coat with ectopamine. Within 2 days all his itching was stopped and everything I used was all natural. I sprayed my dog *before* we left on the next road trip and he did not get any fleas.
It does have a spicy smell, but it does not smell like insecticide. It smells like those old fashioned King Leo candies, not the peppermint ones but the ones with the yellow and pink stripes.
Since I have a large dog with a double coat (briard), I just used a comb to part his hair and sprayed the ectopamine into the part so it would penetrate down to the skin, then combed it to spread it. Application was easy.
I will definitely buy ectopamine again.

Tossed into garbage.Aug 13, 2011
By Diana I wanted to use a natural product, mostly to repel ticks on my dog. I was excited to get this. I applied as instructed -- a light mist is all I did use. Her coat then looked greasy. The smell wasn't bad at first, but after a while, got to be a little too much to smell all the time -- too overpowering and not pleasant. Each time I went to pet her, I would have the smell all over me. She was looking all greasy. I waited a day, and decided to give her a bath. I could not stand it any longer.
I do not know how well this product works for repelling fleas, ticks, etc. I do know it was NOT for me. I like to hug and pet my dog all the time. The almost unused bottle was tossed into the garbage. Would never recommend to anyone.
I love that this is a "natural" product!!!Aug 01, 2011
By bridget a cavalier I love that this is a "natural" product. We have a Chinese Shar Pei puppy that is only 10 weeks old and we live in a heavily tick infested part of the country (Wisconsin). Shar Peis have very sensitive skin and she has had no reactions. The smell reminds my daughter of "Christmas" which is not a bad smell. You do have to keep putting the spray on every couple of days for it to be effective but over all I think it's worth it for the fact that you're not putting what is essentially poison on your dog. Thumbs up from us :).
