I had intended to be able to restrain my dog as well as make him comfortable. The large size was too small for a jack russell. The tether was sewn to the cover and would have ripped out with a decent tug much less an accident. I had researched the company and it was American so I figured American quality; it should be for the price. When it came it was made in China. We know they don't care about our safety or the safety of our pets. I returned it and was charged a $20 handling charge. All in all, I paid like $40 (initial shipping and return charges) to decide this wasn't safe. I would never buy from CSN stores or petgear again. WHAT A RIPOFF!

I purchased this car seat, in medium, for my little 5 lb. yorkie...She loves it, and is comfortable sleeping in it, or looking out the window...I got another yorkie, and then a chorkie, so I bought the large size, to put two in...These are nice carseats, and you'll feel much more secure w/them in the back seat, knowing if you have to stop suddenly, they won't go flying around in the car...I use harnesses on my little ones, and hook them up to the tether...It's a little awkward hooking up the seat belt up, but once it's done, you know they're secure...I highly recommend these car seats...

My wife and I have an 8 lb ShihTzu who loves to ride. We debated if the large would be too big, but now glad we picked it. Chloe can now see out while riding and has a large enough room to be comfortable while sleeping. She likes to stretch out in the sun if it is shining in.
Only drawback, but not enough to lower the rating, is the fastener opening attaching the restraints to the dog's harness could be larger. It is small making detaching the harness and restraint difficult.

This dog carseat is the best thing I have bought in a long time.it is very durable. I put my puppies in and they can see what is going on. They also have plenty of room to lay down. I feel safer driving with my teacup puppies riding in the car seat.

Our dog loves to ride in car and now with this car seat, she can ride in safety and has a great view of the outside world. The only negative is that it takes up about 1/3 of the back seat, but it is worth it to us as there is usually only two of us in the car most of the time.
